Latin America attracts British visitors
Many holidaymakers from the UK are looking to find winter sunshine in Latin America, according to a new study.
Research by Abbey Credit Cards found that more than 15 million Britons plan on jetting abroad to sunnier climes later this year.
Figures showed that while many are planning on going to traditional European hotspots, some intend to travel afield.
For example, four per cent of respondents said they are looking at taking a break in Latin America.
This is likely to be good news for owners of rental accommodation in destinations such as Argentina, as it means demand will be strong.
Callum Gibson, head of Abbey Credit Cards, commented: "Clearly many Britons are in need of escaping our gloomy weather and heading overseas."
This comes after Cater Allen Private Bank revealed that a growing number of British consumers are looking at travelling to long-haul destinations including South America.
