Long-haul destinations 'increasingly popular'
An increasing number of consumers in the UK are choosing to travel to long-haul destinations, experts have stated.
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) said there was growing demand for short breaks to countries that were further afield.
This could potentially boost the appeal of such destinations to overseas property investors, many of which are growing in popularity.
A spokesperson for ABTA commented: "There has been a market recently for people to go for two weeks and sometimes even less, depending on where it is."
However, she added that the markets remained highly popular among people who wanted to stay abroad for longer periods of time.
As a result of the growing popularity of long-haul destinations among holidaymakers, there has been a similar surge of interest among foreign property buyers.
Recently, the Mirror said that many people were now choosing to invest in "far-flung destinations" such as Brazil, as they offered cheap properties, good weather and lots of investment potential.
