Low-cost possibilities for Romania

A new air link is set to be created between London and Bucharest, increasing accessibility for potential property investors.

Low-cost airline Blue Air is set to offer fresh opportunities between the two cities, leaving from Romania on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, reports zf.ro.

In addition, the company is set to offer further flights from both Bucharest and Arad to Stuttgart in Germany.

The paper also reports that Blue Air saw a turnover of 50 million euros (£33.8 million) in 2006, which was double that in 2005. This year, it expects to see a turnover of 80 million euros.

While the firm highlighted the benefits of the link to Romanian travellers, those going in the opposite direction could also see better opportunities.

"Stansted Airport, located 56km from London is the focal point for many fast-access means of transport to the capital city centre and nearby towns," Blue Air commented.

In related news, opportunities for travel into Portugal are also set to be improved after the civil Aviation Authority announced plans have been approved to develop a new airport in the Algarve.
