Magazine highlights 2008 tourism hotspots
Portugal has been described as a destination that will offer good value for tourists in 2008, which may alert investors considering purchasing overseas property.
Travel and Leisure magazine suggests that the Mediterranean nation, as well as eastern European destinations like Montenegro, could be ideal for tourists this year. Indeed, personal finance website SaveBorrowSpend recently recommended Montenegro as a good country for property investment.
Furthermore, the publication states the South American countries of Argentina and Brazil are the "standout destinations for 2008", a point that may interest those thinking about buying an investment property.
Commenting on current tourism trends, the magazine also indicates that Italy will be one of the countries promoting eco-friendly travel. It highlights the Tenuta di Spannocchia hotel in Siena as one of the best green places to stay.
"Part of Tuscany's Riserva Naturale Alto Merse, this 1,100-acre organic estate of managed forests, vegetable gardens and hiking trails is dedicated to nothing less than preserving the region's cultural and agricultural legacy," says Travel and Leisure.
