Major new Dubai development 'will represent a boost to tourist economy'

Dubai's popularity as a tourist destination is set to increase after the launch of a new luxury development.

Leisure and business travellers are expected to flock to the Dubai Marina development which features 200 rooms.

Commenting, the chief executive of developer Emaar Hospitality Group Marc Dardenne, predicted that tourism in the area could see a boost as a result - with benefits that could extend to property investors in the region.

"The hotel's waterfront location and rich array of lifestyle amenities will appeal to leisure travellers, while business visitors can enjoy the added advantages of a state-of-the-art meeting and conference facility," he said.
Emaar describes the Dubai Marina as "a city within a city", located near the Dubai Internet City, Emirates Golf Club and the American University of Dubai.

It is currently developing six residential projects within this urban centre, with three of them already being handed over to residents.

Several thousands of people already live in the Dubai Marina, which has a projected capacity of 75,000 residents.
