Montenegrin property market to receive boost from James Bond

Property investors looking for the latest hotspot could do worse than putting their feet up and enjoying the latest cinema releases, as the trend for buying on the back of blockbuster exposure shows no sign of abating.

The easy advertising of locations that films offer to investors can be extremely lucrative, especially if the area has other investment attractions.

The latest James Bond film, Casino Royale, has sparked interest in Montenegro, where some of the film was set, and experts are predicting a strong future for the emerging market.

While Montenegro shares the stability of close Balkan neighbours like Croatia, the market is much less developed offering the potential for high returns on investment.

The World Travel and Tourism Council figures have also shown Montenegro to have the fastest growing travel and tourism industry in the world for the past three years.

House prices in the Northumberland town of Alnwick rose by over 50 per cent thanks to its close proximity to the castle featured in the Harry Potter films.
