Montenegro house prices going up

Foreign interest in buying property in Montenegro is driving growth in the market, according to a media report.

The Independent stated that growing demand for homes in the eastern European country has led to house prices going up by 40 per cent in the last two years.

This was attributed to a number of factors, including the infrastructure improvements that have come in the wake of an increase in tourist numbers.

In addition, the newspaper said interest in Montenegro has been significantly boosted by secret agent James Bond's visit to the country during the 2006 movie Casino Royale.

The Independent commented: "The nation's James Bond moment gave the tourist board bragging rights."

As a result, the country is increasingly becoming a "big hitter" overseas property buyers.

Montenegro was also said to offer a number of lifestyle attractions, including "stunning" coastlines and "dramatic" countryside.

Earlier this week, independent analysts at Amberlamb said the nation's holiday industry is currently "booming and thriving".
