Montenegro recommended to investors
Overseas property investors have been advised to consider purchasing a residence in Montenegro.
The eastern European country was highlighted by the SaveBorrowSpend website as a potential hotspot for British buyers this year.
Montenegro was said to offer a number of attractions to foreign investors, such as relatively cheap property values in different areas.
SaveBorrowSpend compared the status of its housing market to Croatia about three years ago, particularly in terms of the prices on offer.
The website commented: "In other words, pop across the border and you can get some great bargains."
However, it said that since the country's laws on buying property were different to those in many established markets, it would be prudent to carry out advance research before committing to a purchase.
This comes after Holiday-Rentals revealed that British interest in the Montenegrin property market has increased considerably in the last year.
The organisation stated that during the 12 months to October 2007, the number of properties in the country it had listed on its books rose by 113 per cent.
