More Britons choosing to move abroad
A record number of people in the UK are packing their bags and choosing to move abroad, according to a new study.
Research by Allied Pickfords found that while established, English-speaking countries remain the most popular destinations, other places are also proving to be attractive.
For example, the number of people choosing to move to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was comparable to the amount who favoured France.
Dubai in particular was found to be an increasingly appealing choice, as the number of Britons relocating there is 31% up on last year.
Allied Pickfords attributed this "massive" surge in popularity to the property boom the emirate is currently enjoying.
The removals firm added: "The international property market is changing.
"People are prepared to consider all parts of the globe as their home."
Meanwhile, Colliers International has revealed that house prices in Dubai have gone up by 78% in the last 12 months.
