More Britons planning to emigrate
A growing number of people in the UK are looking into the possibility of moving abroad, experts have revealed.
According to currency specialist HiFX, many British nationals want to leave their home because of ongoing problems in the domestic economy.
Figures showed that between January and June, the number of enquiries the group received from prospective migrants was 30 per cent up on the first half of last year.
Since 2007 was a record year for emigration, it is possible that the overall number of 2008 could again reach unprecedented levels.
Mark Bodega, director at HiFX, commented: "The fact that even more people are looking to move abroad this year shows that there is now a very real desire to escape some of the problems in the UK economy."
However, Joe O'Brien of Crosscare has called on people not to rush into making any decisions.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, he stated that consumers need to carry out thorough research into their chosen destination before committing to a move.
