A growing number of European people are choosing to travel by air, new figures have revealed.
According to EU statistics agency Eurostat, a total of 738 million people from the continent took to the skies last year - up by 4.7% on 2005.
Eastern European countries were found to be especially popular, with strong growth in recorded in many recent member states.
For example, the number of people passing through Romanian airports was said to have increased by more than a third.
This suggests that the country is growing in popularity among both business and leisure travellers.
A number of services from the UK have been introduced throughout this year, such as the route between Stansted Airport and Bucharest by Blue Air.
In addition, Wizz Air recently announced that it would add extra flights to the country and open a new operating base at Cluj Airport.
