Morocco 'attracting more property buyers'

A growing number of British people are choosing to invest in the Moroccan property market, according to a report.

The Telegraph explains that Morocco's accessibility – flights to the north African country take just three hours from the UK – rich culture and warm weather have made it popular with British lifestyle buyers.

In addition, major infrastructure developments brought in by King Mohamed VI are turning Morocco into a more appealing prospect for investors, with new rail and road connections being built and regional airports upgraded.

The long-mooted construction of an under-sea tunnel connecting the country with southern Spain also remains a possibility.

According to the newspaper, many investors view the emerging Moroccan market as reminiscent of the property sector in Spain 30 years ago, but with more controlled development.

London-based investor Henry Emson recently told the Daily Mail that his property in Agadir, a Moroccan resort popular among UK buyers, is a "great winter sun destination".
