Morocco 'offers winter sun'
Morocco has been recommended as a good destination for people who are planning to get away this Christmas.
Fiona Reece of I-Escape stated that the north African destination was an ideal option for those who wanted to soak up some culture while enjoying a beach holiday.
Speaking to the Guardian, she said Morocco was a good choice because it was accessible from the UK, as airlines such as Ryanair offered direct passage to Marrakech.
The country was also praised for offering areas that were "off the beaten tourist track", meaning that holidaymakers from the UK could avoid the crowds and relax.
This follows research by Co-operative Travel showing that a large number of Britons were planning to fly abroad during the festive season.
Figures from the firm showed that about 3.3 million people from the UK wanted to enjoy Christmas in a sunny location.
This means that countries which are popular with British holidaymakers could potentially be good investments for those who are considering buying rental accommodation abroad.
