New airport to be built in Spain

Authorities in Spain have announced that a new international airport is to be built in Huelva province.

Although the facility has been the subject of discussion for almost a decade, it is only now that permission to build it has been granted.

The transport hub will be located in close proximity to Portugal's Algarve, which makes it well located for people who are visiting the Iberian Peninsula.

This may also lead to extra interest in Spain and Portugal from second home buyers from other countries.

Commenting on the new airport, Foreign Property Buyer said: "This is all good news for property investors as tourism in the area is expected to increase."

The online portal added that property prices would experience "rapid growth" over the next few years.

This comes after the Portuguese government announced that a new airport would be created in Alcochete, close to Lisbon.

This could potentially boost tourism in areas such as the Silver Coast in western Portugal.
