New flights to France launched

Low-cost airline easyJet has launched its latest service between the UK and France.

The budget carrier is now offering daily passage from London Gatwick Airport and Nantes, a city in the Loire Valley.

This represents a further improvement to the accessibility of western France and could potentially boost tourism in the region.

Furthermore, the enhanced connectivity could make it an ideal location for second home buyers and property investors to consider.

According to easyJet, Nantes offers a number of attractions to visitors from overseas, including history, culture and good food and drink.

The city was also said to offer cool winters and warm summers, thereby making it an ideal place to visit all year round.

Commenting on the new flights, the airline stated: "[We expect] to carry 60,000 passengers on the new service in the first 12 months of operation."

The carrier recently revealed that passenger numbers in April 2008 were 13.4 per cent up on those recorded a year earlier.
