New law 'will aid disabled travellers'

Disabled travellers could be set to benefit after a new law came into force on airlines, which will mean the companies have to allow those with disabilities to travel.

Under the law - the first part of the European Union rule 1107/2006, people with reduced mobility will have to be allowed to board flights, reports Homes Worldwide.

Exceptions to the rule will include when it is physically impossible for the traveller to board a flight, it added.

Moreover, from next year those operating airports will also be responsible for looking after disabled travellers as soon as they arrive at airports.

Such provisions will include finding replacements for broken or damaged equipment if this is the case.

It is hoped that the fresh ruling will allow more people to enjoy the benefits places such as Spain have to offer, which may be of interest to potential property investors, the publication stated.

Last week, Banco Halifax Hispania stated that a large proportion of young people are flocking to Spain and investing in property there.
