NGOs urge Turkey government 'to start EU talks'

A number of nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) have given advice to Turkey regarding its process to be welcomed into the European Union (EU).

They are urging the government to restart negotiations with EU officials in the attempt to increase the economic stability of the country, reports the Turkish Daily News.

"A comprehensive strategy is a must both to inform the Turkish public and to remove all prejudices found abroad," said the Economic Development Foundation.

These comments come after the ruling Justice and Development party saw victory in the recent Turkish elections.

Such a process must be instigated immediately in order to help the country's bid, they stated, something that might be of news to potential property investors.

Otherwise, the process could stall and come up against fresh barriers, experts said.

In related news, Prime minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in his recent speech that the country is ready to turn a new page and strive into the future.
