Non-European countries 'could be good investments'

Potential foreign property investors have been told that several places outside Europe could be good options to consider.

According to the advice website BuyAssociation, countries such as Morocco are attracting considerable interest as a result of its emergence as a popular tourist destination.

The portal stated that although property in the north African country had been available for some years, government efforts to boost the holiday industry were resulting in the creation of new developments and leisure facilities.

BuyAssociation added that Morocco could rival countries such as Spain, especially as it was now served by low-cost airlines.

Brazil was also highlighted as a good option for investors to consider, again partly because of its growing tourist trade.

The website stated that although the country had been the "new kid on the block" last year, it was now becoming more popular and was seen as a "real investment opportunity".

Currency specialist HiFX recently attributed the growing popularity of emerging markets to affordability problems in the UK.
