Optimistic outlook for Brazilian property market

The Brazilian property market is well-equipped to survive current instability in the world economy, it has been claimed.

According to BuyAssociation, Brazil is in a much better position than other countries because its banks have large cash reserves in place and borrowing levels are generally much lower in its financial system.

This means that the South American nation should "ride out the economic instability more comfortably" than other countries, making it an attractive location for property investment.

BuyAssociation notes that the Brazilian market appeals to both professional investors and a growing number of lifestyle buyers, with British Olympic gold-medallist Chris Hoy recently buying a property in the country.

The cyclist purchased an off-plan development in the north-eastern resort of Tabatinga, where he intends to relax in the breaks between training and competitive events.

Last week, BBC Radio Four presenter Brian Hanrahan named Brazil as his favourite holiday destination and revealed an admiration for the architecture of capital Brasilia.
