Portugal 'gains jet-set status as celebrities flock to the Algarve'
Portugal is becoming the latest jet-set destination for the world's top celebrities, according to one recent report.
Consequently, the country's reputation as a property investment destination could be boosted by the number of celebrities increasingly spending time in the Algarve or travelling up to the Silver Coast to regions like the Obidos Lagoon to play golf.
One Hollywood actress, Lauren Holly (pictured) - who starred in Dumb & Dumber and currently appears in Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service - explained that she is a big fan of Portugal.
She told GossipPress.com: "So far it has been amazing; I drove everyone from Vilamoura to Portimao in the Pershing yacht and drank champagne."
Portugal is also a popular destination for professional sports stars - football teams, for instance, regularly visit the country for training sessions, thanks to the warm weather and excellent golf facilities.
Additionally, a number of celebrity golf tournaments are held each year for charity, with both the Algarve and the Silver Coast having a number of championship-quality courses.
