Property enquiries 'on increase'
Enquires from potential overseas properties are in the increase, according to new reports from Baydonhill, the financial services provider.
Over the past year, mortgage enquiries for properties overseas increased by 30%, the organisation stated, reports Propertyshowrooms.com.
Mortgage brokers said that there was a rise in activity and interest from UK customers.
Additionally, traditional places remain to be popular among British buyers, it said, with Portugal, Italy, Spain and France proving to be the usual choices.
Commenting on the figures, head of mortgages at Baydonhill Fiona Watts said that there are many ways to go about investing in property.
"Overseas buyers are starting to realise that there are now reliable sources of information on investing in overseas property out there other than the traditional banking routes," she stated.
In related news, new markets are no match for the familiarity offered by Spain as a potential place to invest in property, according to HiFX.
