Property in Argentina is ideal for Brits retiring abroad
Cheap property prices in Argentina have earned the country the title of one of the best alternative retirement destinations from Shelter Offshore.
The finance company selected Argentina for its "wildly inexpensive" real estate which it claims can get buyers "anything from a ranch to a vineyard for the price of your three bed semi in Surrey".
Argentina was also recommended for its infrastructure and amenities in urban areas, as well as the good cost of living. The capital Buenos Aires is one of the few cities in South America which doesn't experience problems with violent crime.
Areas which attract large numbers of tourists can also see good rental yields, suggesting the country is not only a good place to live but provides opportunities for foreign property investment.
Latest figures from Torcuato di Tella University about the economy show that consumer confidence is beginning to return, particularly in areas around the capital Buenos Aires. The exchange rate is also particularly good at the moment with over 6 pesos to every pound.
