Ras Al-Khaimah government reveals major new tourism project
Ras Al-Khaimah's investment and development office has announced a major new project to expand tourism and hospitality services in the region.
Entitled the International Hospitality Trade and Training Zone (ihottz), the 350-acre site will include educational facilities for what has been described as the world's first "hospitality hub".
A variety of schools will feature in the plan, including centres for cooking, security, sports training and languages, as well as a travel industry training area.
The United Arab Emirates tourism industry is expected to benefit significantly as a result of having a fully qualified workforce, the gulfnews.com news provider reports.
Dr Stuart Mann, dean of the William F Harrah College of Hotel Administration in Las Vegas, remarked of ihottz: "Nowhere in the world does exist such a grouping of educational entities totally devoted to hospitality and tourism education."
In related news, it has been announced that Ras Al-Kaihmah will also host a new $468.3 million (£235.7 million) mixed-use hotel and shopping complex, the Middle East North Africa Financial Network reported.
