Rental accommodation overseas 'in strong demand'
Holiday homes in major tourist destinations are currently in strong demand, experts have revealed.
According to Holiday-Rentals, many Britons are "binge holidaymakers" who make a number of trips abroad every year.
This means that although owning a foreign property is not on the agenda for these people, this consumer group is increasingly seeking to use rental accommodation overseas.
Holiday-Rentals stated that people wanted to go on self-catering holidays because it allowed them to be "closer to the action" in each destination.
Greg Grant, country manager for the firm, commented: "While many of these properties are located in Europe, as investors have become more adventurous there are also now hundreds of properties in exotic and secluded locations."
The company went on to highlight many of the most popular destinations, including Morocco, Turkey and Cyprus.
This comes after the Office for National Statistics revealed that 848,000 people from the UK now own land or property overseas.
