Romania 'rising star' of Europe
One of the world's biggest chemical firms, BASF Group, has announced that it expects to see an increased turnover on the Romanian market.
The company puts this expected growth down to the overall robust health of the economic situation in Romania and the opportunities the country offers, reports zf.ro.
BASF states that it expects to see a turnover of 557 million euros (£374 million) on the Romanian market, which is a 60% increase on last year's results.
According to the firm, the country is now the "rising star" in Europe and remains in healthy shape.
Manager of the business centre for central Europe at BASF Herbert Frankenstein notes the recent trend.
"This year, we expect the turnover to go up by around 60% owing to Romanian market opportunities and the expansion of our activity portfolio. Last year, turnover on the industrial segment reached 60 million euros," he told the publication.
The paper also reported that the Bucharest Stock Exchange recently recorded a record high, possibly swelled by increased foreign investment in the country.
