Ryanair expands into Europe
Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced a further expansion of services between the UK and Europe.
The budget carrier will begin offering flights from Glasgow Airport to the Portuguese city Faro in October 2008.
This will coincide with the launch of flights between Glasgow and Malaga in Spain.
Meanwhile, Ryanair will also open up a number of new routes from Bournemouth Airport, including services to Milan and Paris.
This means that consumers living in the vicinity of the two British airports will be able to enjoy improved access to mainland Europe.
As a result, the new destinations could attract the attention of overseas property investors and second home buyers.
Bridget Dowling of Ryanair commented: "Our new UK routes will provide passengers with lower fares and better punctuality."
The announcement comes after the airline revealed that passenger numbers in April 2008 went up by 15% on a year-by-year basis.
