Ryanair launches new French services

A budget airline has announced that it is to start operating three new routes between the UK and France.

Ryanair will begin offering passage from Bristol to Bergerac (Dordogne), Beziers (Languedoc) and Pau (Pyrenees-Atlantiques) next month.

This should boost the accessibility of France to holidaymakers in the south-west of England, while also opening up new investment opportunities for foreign property buyers.

People who already own rental accommodation in these regions are also likely to benefit.

Commenting on the new services, Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary said: "Our record advance bookings confirm that passengers in Bristol can't get enough of Ryanair's guaranteed lowest fares."

He added that ticket prices were half of those offered by its competitor easyJet, a fact which highlights the importance of the French market to the travel industry.

Ryanair's rival airline recently announced plans to expand its presence at two major airports in France, as it will open new bases at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Lyon in early 2008.
