Silver Coast recommended to investors

Overseas property investors have been advised to consider purchasing a residence on Portugal's Silver Coast.

According to the Telegraph, the region could be a good option for foreign buyers as it offers relatively cheap house prices.

The newspaper stated that prices on the Silver Coast are about 30% cheaper than those in other investment hotspots, such as the Algarve.

However, it also said the area is an "up and coming" market with lots of new developments being created.

This is likely to trigger significant house price inflation across the Silver Coast region, which means investors who buy early could get a relative bargain.

The Telegraph added that a growing number of luxury developments aimed at the top end of the market are currently being built in the area.

Investment prospects in the region are set to be boosted further with the opening of a new airport in Alcochete.

The facility should be up and running by 2012 and will open up the market to a larger number of holidaymakers and foreign property buyers.
