Southern Brazilian state 'attracting investors'

The Brazilian state of Santa Catarina is rapidly becoming an investment hotspot, an overseas property expert has said.

Santa Catarina is among the wealthiest regions of Brazil and benefits from a strong industrial sector and tourism industry, reports Nubricks.com.

That fact has helped to attract interest from overseas investors and Jaimie Kanwar of The Move Channel described recent property sector activity in the state as "amazing".

"Interest [has come] from Italian, Spanish, American and more recently British investors, who are deciding to spread the net a little further when looking for that second property nest egg abroad," he explained.

The expert added that apartments with "long-term rental and resale potential" could be purchased for less than £35,000.

Brazil's economy has long been predicted to become one of the strongest in the world and that has been reflected in the decision of ratings agencies Standard & Poor's and Fitch to describe it as a safe place to invest.
