Spanish property investors 'need hard-nosed approach'
An expert in Spanish property investment has urged Britons to take a dispassionate approach when buying a home in the country.
Paul Bradley, spokesperson for the Spanish Property Owners Guild, claimed that too many people "buy with their hearts" instead of thinking through their investment prospects clearly and unemotionally.
He said that prospective buyers in Spain should take a "hard-nosed investment approach" in order to ensure the best results.
Mr Bradley also stated that Spain remains one of the "favourite escape routes" for Britons, despite the falling value of the pound against the euro and other economic difficulties.
He explained that the country's close proximity, "great climate" and "wonderful people" help to make it enduringly popular with UK-based buyers.
According to the March 2008 report from the Association of International Property Professionals, 25.4% of all overseas properties bought by British investors are located in Spain.
