Sunshine tempts Britons overseas
A growing number of British nationals are considering packing their bags and moving abroad, according to a new study.
Research by Foreign Currency Direct found that the overall level of interest in emigrating has gone up in the last year.
The study highlighted a number of reasons for this trend, such as concerns over the rising cost of living and crime.
However, nearly one in three people cited the weather as their main motivation, as they believed they could enjoy a better climate abroad.
Peter Ellis, head of Foreign Currency Direct, commented: "Buying property overseas is an excellent investment and a great opportunity to have a better quality of life."
He added that issues such as crime and the cost of living had led to many perceiving foreign countries as a "refuge".
This comes after NatWest highlighted the improved level of access to foreign countries as another reason for international migration.
