Tourism 'could boost Moroccan rental market'
Plans by the Moroccan government to boost the country's tourism industry could have a positive effect on its rental market, according to experts.
Foreign Property Buyer stated that King Mohammed was aiming to turn Morocco into one of the world's leading holiday destinations, with a view to attracting ten million visitors a year by 2010.
The website said the country's buy-to-let market could be significantly boosted by an influx of leisure travellers from overseas, as this would create high demand for temporary accommodation.
"This all bodes well for the rental market," it commented, adding that this could make Morocco attractive to overseas property investors.
Foreign Property Buyer added that housing market in some areas was "buoyant", which means that many investors will be likely to benefit from their purchase appreciating in value.
According to the Telegraph, the introduction of cheap flights to Morocco has helped encourage many people from the UK to invest in the market.
The newspaper recently said the country had "grabbed Briton's attention" during 2007.
