Traffic network in Varna 'could be improved'

A council official in Bulgaria has outlined proposals with the attempt to improve the traffic infrastructure in Varna.

Head of the municipal council Borislav Gutsanov said that a zoning plan could help the overall smooth running of traffic in the area, reports the Sofia Echo.

Under the plans, different zones will be marked out where certain types of building can be constructed, the official said.

Moreover, various facilities may also be moved, such as sports areas, gardens and parks, he said, in order to improve the general image of the city, news that may be of interest to potential property investors.

Other proposed developments include the building of a bridge over Varna Lake, making accessibility easier.

In related news, the official also recently stated that a new port in the area is also a possibility. Such a container port would be the first of its kind in Bulgaria, he said.
