Turkey 'is family home hotspot'

Property investors with families have been urged to consider Turkey as a potential location for their holiday home.

According to Homes Worldwide, the country "ticks all the boxes" when it comes to family-friendly holiday properties – flight times are short, the weather is warm throughout the summer and there are plenty of activities to keep children occupied.

The website describes Turkey as famously "child-friendly", with the safety and well-being of youngsters a major consideration in Turkish society.

In addition, the country is safe for younger people and boasts crime rates considerably lower than those in the UK.

For older children, many of Turkey's coastal resorts offer a variety of water sports and other activities, with windsurfing, sailing, water skiing and parasailing all popular with more adventurous holidaymakers.

When looking to invest in a holiday property, Homes Worldwide recommends that buyers choose a residence which is located within an hour of an airport, offers good communal facilities and is situated close to the beach and shops.

Last week, Adnan Gunes of Swedish tour operator Kuoni told the Turkish Daily News that more European holidaymakers will choose Turkey as the financial crisis makes long-haul destinations less affordable.
