Turkey offers low prices
Owners of rental accommodation in Turkey could be set to enjoy low vacancy rates this summer, new figures have suggested.
According to Money Week, the country is currently one of the cheapest places in Europe for Britons to visit.
This is because it offers more favourable exchange rates than many other European nations, such as Italy, Portugal and Spain.
The British pound recently slumped to a record low against the euro, which means that trips to eurozone countries have become more expensive for people from the UK.
However, Turkey offers comparable attractions to other Mediterranean hotspots, albeit at a lower price.
This means it is likely that people who own a holiday home in the most popular areas could benefit from strong rental demand.
Money Week commented: "If you stay within Europe, it's worth knowing that the cheapest countries are Bulgaria and Turkey."
According to John Bevan of Lastminute.com, the continuing financial crisis has contributed to a surge in the popularity of Turkey.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he stated that Turkey is now its top destination, whereas it usually occupies fourth or fifth place behind places like Spain.
