Turkish Property Market Lures Overseas Investors
An increasing number of Britons are being attracted to the Turkish property market, it has been revealed.
According to Andrew Hawkins, head of Chesterton International, the country is now more accessible to people from the UK and therefore more appealing.
Other plus points for potential property investors include the fact that Turkey is an applicant member of the European Union (EU) and the country has evolved significantly over the last ten years in the political and economic spheres.
What's more, Mr Hawkins believes that Turkey has a certain enigmatic quality which endears itself to investors.
"It has that eastern feel about it," he explained.
"You can have the best of both worlds - European quality and standards in a more exotic setting. It is a really nice destination."
Mr Hawkins believes that Turkey will be granted EU membership by 2010 or 2011, and that this will be seized upon by property investors as an invitation to buy.
Turkey's blend of eastern and western cultures stems from its intrusion into two separate continents - Europe and Asia.
