Turkish province sees high rental demand
Demand for temporary lodgings in Turkey's Antalya province is continuing to increase, according to new figures.
Data from the Mediterranean Tourism Hotels Union (AKTOB) showed that many hotels in the region are fully booked and are likely to remain so over the summer, reports Today's Zaman.
The organisation added that other accommodation facilities are also expected to reach 100% occupancy rates during the next few months.
This could potentially be highly lucrative for people who own a property in Antalya, as they may be able to collect strong rental yields as a result.
Indeed, AKTOB chairman Sururi Corabatir has stated that in the last 5 months, the increase in visitor numbers has been "remarkable".
He commented: "Antalya hotel occupancy rates are at the highest levels.
"Even finding a single room is difficult."
Mr Corabatir added that during the year to date, the number of tourists from Europe has gone up by 8%.
Earlier this week, tourism minister Ertugrul Gunay stated that he wants annual visitor numbers in Turkey to increase from 23 million in 2007 to more than 25 million this year.
