Turkish tourism officials welcome Queen visit

Officials in the Turkish tourism industry have welcomed the state visit of Queen Elizabeth II to the country.

The British monarch is currently in the middle of a four-day trip to Turkey, which marks the first time she has visited in 37 years.

According to Suphi Dilmen of South Marmara Hoteliers and Administrators Association, her arrival could have a number of positive consequences for the country.

Speaking to TurkishPress.com, he said it would contribute to promoting Turkey across the world, in particular its natural and historic attractions.

This could potentially encourage growth in the tourist trade in the next few years, which could in turn impact on Turkey's rental market.

The British delegation is scheduled to visit various parts of the country during the trip, including Ankara, Istanbul and Bursa.

Earlier this week, Queen Elizabeth spoke highly of the country, describing it as a "confident" and "dynamic" democracy.
