Property investors with business interests looking to invest in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) may be heartened to hear that the country has one of the most advanced telecommunications infrastructures in the Arab world, according to the findings of a new study.
The Arab Advisors Group studied countries in the region to ascertain their total country connectivity measure, a score reflecting how well-connected a country is.
Out of the Arab countries, the UAE gained the highest score, with a broadband penetration of 5.03% - higher than Greece, Gulf News reported.
The Jordanian minister for information and communication technology, Basem Rousan, explained that the increasing interaction of technology can benefit Arab countries.
"Convergence presents us with a great opportunity that the media and telecom business can greatly benefit from, as new sources of revenue are emerging," he said.
A strong technical infrastructure is likely to be an important factor in attracting investment to the UAE as the country attempts to diversify its economy.
