US property buyers praise Brazil

Brazil has been praised by two US nationals who own property in the South American country.

Gene Celentano lived in Rio de Janeiro with his wife Nancy for two years in the early 1990s as part of his job.

Speaking to the New York Times, they revealed that they liked it so much that they have chosen to spend their retirement in the city.

The couple purchased a home in Rio 5 years ago and now divide their time between the US and their property in Brazil.

Commenting on their lifestyle decisions, Mrs Celentano remarked: "I think it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

"Plus you have the city and wonderful people."

She added that her "jaw still drops" when she looks at the mountains and sea, even though she has owned a property there since 2003.

This comes after NuBricks.com stated that the rising cost of oil and the ongoing credit crunch is not negatively impacting on Brazil's economy.
