US tourists advised to visit Morocco
American tourists have been advised to consider visiting long-haul destinations such as Morocco by a media outlet.
Forbes.com recommended the north African country as a potential holiday spot because of the favourable exchange rates.
The low value of the American dollar has currently made trips to places such as Europe very expensive for leisure travellers from the US.
For example, one dollar is worth just half a UK pound at the moment, which means their currency will not go a long way.
However, other countries such as Morocco were highlighted by Forbes as a good alternative for American holidaymakers, since its local currency is worth "substantially less" than the dollar.
Forbes.com said this would give a "savvy American tourist the opportunity to experience a new culture for a reasonable cost".
The Moroccan government is currently aiming to attract ten million visitors a year to the country by 2010.
