Visitors to Turkey 'will purchase holiday homes'
Turkey's growing tourist trade could have a positive impact on its housing market, according to an expert.
Rhiannon Williamson, director of ShelterOffshore.com, stated that many visitors were choosing to buy property in the country after they returned home.
She said that with about 25 million holidaymakers expected to arrive in Turkey this year, the outlook for its housing market was positive.
Ms Williamson commented: "Many tourists who visit a new destination and really fall in love with it also have a strong desire to spend more time there."
She added that the introduction of low-cost flights to Turkey had also helped to boost the appeal of the country among holiday home buyers, as they had made certain areas more accessible.
According to the Association of British Travel Agents, Turkey has been one of the most popular destinations among tourists from the UK this year.
