Young people want to invest abroad
Many young people in the UK are interested in exploiting the investment potential of an overseas property.
This is the view of Cater Allen Private Bank, which believes that more than three million British nationals will buy a house abroad in the next two years.
Although the group said most of these people are likely to be aged over 45, the study found that many young Britons are keen to join them and invest overseas.
Estimates suggest that ten per cent of 18 to 34-year-olds in the UK are interested in purchasing a foreign property at some point in the future.
Figures also showed that 60% of these people want to buy for investment rather than lifestyle purposes.
Commenting on the findings, Sally Watts of Cater Allen said: "More and more people are investigating how they can find investment returns elsewhere."
This comes after Knight Frank revealed that demand for property in emerging markets is particularly strong.
